National Voter Registration Day

National Voter Registration Day
September 24, 2019
The National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) established the first National Voter Registration Day on September 25, 2012. In 2014, the NASS established the fourth Tuesday of September as the official day for National Voter Registration Day, a non-partisan, unofficial national holiday.
The goal of this day is to make it easier for people to register to vote and maintain their voter registration status. This will allow for an increase in voter turnout at the polls during election time. Voting is the only way to express ourselves as individuals. It is important to have a voice in choosing the politicians who create and vote on laws that mold our future.
As Flight Attendants, we get busy and forget to vote in state and local elections. On National Voter Registration Day, we encourage you to ask yourself a few questions:
- Are you registered to vote?
- Have you moved since the last election?
- Are you registered to vote at your new address?
Do You Know:
- Voter registration deadlines by state
- Election dates by state
- If you qualify to be an absentee voter or how to apply for a mail-in ballot?
