PSP Went Through and Your Union is Here for You

by | Dec 28, 2020 | Negotiations, News, Union Business

Your Negotiation Committee would like to thank each and every one of you who contacted your elected officials to ask them to make additional pandemic relief a priority. Yesterday, a new coronavirus relief package was signed into law, providing payroll support for all Members through March 31, 2021. Because of this, the Company is halting all efforts to furlough or reduce Employees’ pay, and is officially rescinding the WARN Act notices that it had sent to Members.

Thank you for making your voices heard and for helping bring to fruition this extra support that your Union has been working towards, along with other leaders across the industry, since June. Together, we have accomplished something for which we should all be proud.

TWU Local 556 continues to advocate for you. We are elated at the news of the payroll support, but we are not stopping here. This development will impact discussions at the table, and your Union will encourage Management to offer more voluntary programs to address overstaffing. Stay tuned to communications from your Union for the most up-to-date information.

We have many more miles to fly before this pandemic is behind us, but we navigate this journey knowing something very important: In good times or in turbulence, together, we can accomplish anything.

In Solidarity,

Negotiations Committee
