TWU LOCAL 556 NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE UPDATE #43
Your Only Official Source of Factual Information

Dear Member:

The Union met with the Company on Wednesday, March 31, and Thursday, April 1.

The Union and the Company addressed housekeeping issues in regard to negotiations, ensuring both parties were aligned as to the bargaining status of all articles in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The Company stated that the recent high volume of sick calls it received from Flight Attendants over this past weekend underscored a need to address Article 32 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement during these negotiations. The Company presented a proposal it felt would address the issue. That proposal also included responses to the Union’s proposed changes to Article 33: Commuter Policy.

The Union engaged in open and fruitful discussion with the Company during the course of these two days to address the relevant issues at the table, including Article 32: Attendance Policy. We are confident these collaborative discussions will continue during our next scheduled session.

The parties agreed to reschedule their April meetings to May 25 and 26.

In Solidarity,

Your TWU Local 556 Negotiating Committee
