Negotiating Committee Update

The TWU Local 556 Negotiating Committee and the Company had scheduled time to meet this week on October 20, 21, and 22 to continue negotiations. In response to a request from the Company, the Union agreed that the time held for these meetings would be repurposed to discuss the vaccine mandate and the Company’s financial position.

However, while the focus had to be on the mandate in the short term, the Union’s long-term objectives remain a priority. The core work of the Negotiating Committee continued: The team attended the Company’s quarterly earnings call on Thursday to evaluate the current economic situation and continued important work with respect to improving our contract.

The Negotiating Committee will continue to update Members on future bargaining sessions scheduled with the Company.
