Grievance Team Update

by | Apr 8, 2022 | News, Union Business

The Grievance Team is seeing several cases regarding Class 1.17 and Termination level points. Class 1. Section 17 in the Flight Attendant Work Rules and Expectations states:

“Failure to fulfill or complete reserve obligation by not being within two (2) hours driving distance from domicile (of the reserve assignment) during reserve contact hours.”

Also, please be aware if you self-assign a trip on reserve you must be in Base by your reserve contact time, not your pairing report time. Please reference RBF 2013-091:

If you are in point trouble, please reach out to the TWU Local 556 Grievance Team, so we may try to find a way to assist you (1-800-969-7932). We continue to see Flight Attendants being terminated for points when they could have used a PIN, Dr’s Note, FMLA, or a Medical Leave.

A reminder if you are injured at work, please visit the TWU 556 website. We have an On-the-Job Injury page that is broken down by Base and will assist you through the process. Once logged in go to Members: Resources: Workers Compensation/OJI.
