Q1: “What is the December Sick Bank Accrual Bonus?”
If a Flight Attendant has perfect attendance in December, they will accrue sick bank at a rate of 1.5 times the normal rate.
Example: I fly 100 TFP and have perfect attendance in December. I will accrue 15 TFP of sick bank, instead of the normal 10 TFP.
Q2: “Will I qualify if I use my PIN in December?”
You will not. Any attendance infraction except Funeral Leave, Jury Duty, or an MBL for which no points were accrued, will disqualify you from the December Sick Bank Accrual Bonus.
Q3: “Will I accrue Sick Bank on my VJA TFP?”
Sick Leave accrual has changed in Contract 2024, however that change does not impact December 2024. If you have perfect attendance for December 2024, your total TFP (including VJA) will accrue at 1.5 times the normal rate of accrual.
Example: In December 2024, I have a VJA pairing that pays 19.8 TFP x 1.5 = 29.7 TFP. I will accrue 4.45 TFP of sick bank.
Our Pink Contract did change sick bank accrual to straight-time TFP only. However, this change will not be implemented until Phase 2, which is scheduled to begin in January 2025.
Q4: “Where can I see my Sick Bank Accrual?”
The bottom of your Payroll Report shows your sick bank beginning balance, amount accrued in the bid period, amount used in the bid period, and estimated beginning balance for the next bid period.
