It was brought to my attention that I missed the passing of Richard Morris. My sincerest apologies to all his friends and family. Please keep Richard and his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. Although I did not know him personally, I know that Richard must have been a man of quality, respect, and love.
 

I will do my best to acknowledge all Las Vegas-based Flight Attendants in as many ways as possible. If I ever miss a passing or some type of accomplishment, please inform me. Times are tough in our current world, and I am committed to giving all our Las Vegas Flight Attendants the best support and acknowledgment I can.

  • Maria Theresa Hank and I met with Commissioner Michael Naft to express our parking concerns. He did make a commitment to us on safety-related issues concerns. He also said that he would set up a meeting with the Director of McCarran airport, our local 556, local 577, and any other party affected by any parking changes. I will continue to follow up as I receive any new information concerning McCarran employee and flight crew parking.  
  • Per our Contract, for Hawaii flights, report time is 45 minutes before push time. 

Veteran’s Committee


As a union let’s focus and spend our time working for what is right and beneficial for us as Flight Attendants. I have heard from many of you and the frustration you feel about how we are pulled and not pulled for possible exposure. I know you are also upset about having to sit and wait for hours in the waiting room to verify your illness with an unfamiliar doctor during Emergency Sick Call Procedures. I understand some of our membership feels that management does not care about our health and safety. Management has the luxury of making COVID-19 exposure rules from the comfort and safety of their homes. Flight Attendants do not have that luxury. We are one of a few workgroups who cannot social distance in order to perform our duties. Anywhere on the aircraft, Flight Attendants (ie in the aisles, galleys, or jumpseats) are continually mere inches away from passengers who have their masks down while eating and/or drinking or who simply refuse to comply and not wear their mask properly or at all. The company’s stance of “informing not enforcing” the federal mask mandate and not backing us up on the removal of non-compliant passengers, gives the impression that profits and the happiness of our shareholders are more important than our health and safety as a workgroup. The Labor Movement is not unlike the Civil Rights Movement or the Women’s Suffrage Movement. Change will only be made when our members stand together in unity and solidarity. Our voices are louder and more respected when we all work together to carry this immense load. When we stand together, we win together.
