TWU LOCAL 556 NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE UPDATE # 13
Your Only Official Source of Factual Information

The Negotiating Committee met with Management this week for a two-day session. TWU Local 556 is still reviewing the counter proposal for Hotel language and the FAR 10-hour rest language. This session, Management presented their counterproposal for Article 25- Health and Safety. After going over their counterproposal, we presented Article 33- Commuter Policy.

Article 25Health and Safety
Safety Chairperson Michael Massoni was able to join us at the table as our subject matter expert while Management gave their counterproposal. Management once again rejected many of our requests including protections to help with hot aircraft and animals on board. We will be reviewing their counterproposal and formulating our response. We hope to come to an agreement soon on this extremely important Article.

Article 33- Commuter Policy
Based on your emails and feedback, we are happy to report that we presented to Management a proposal for Article 33- Commuter Policy. We proposed incorporating Settlement Letters and Letters of Agreement that have to do with commuting. Additionally, we proposed a ground commuter policy to help provide protections for those Flight Attendants who travel to work utilizing ground transportation. We are looking forward to Management’s counter to hopefully make the ground commuter policy a reality.

Our next bargaining session is scheduled for July 30th, 31st and August 1st. Stay tuned and engaged as your Negotiating Committee presents you with the facts.
