TWU LOCAL 556 NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE UPDATE #49
Your Only Official Source of Factual Information

The Union and the Company met yesterday to discuss the FAR 10-hour rest requirement within the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018 and its impact on Southwest Airlines Flight Attendants.

In our meeting, the TWU Local 556 Negotiating Committee outlined proposed terms of this requirement’s implementation in a counter proposal to the Company, which will now have time to review the proposal.

The Union expects the Company’s response to the proposal the week of November 30 during a series of meetings the Union and the Company have planned. The Union intends to meet with the Company every day that week until a final agreement is reached on the terms of the Act’s implementation.

The Negotiating Committee will continue to keep Members informed of changes to rest that will impact quality of life for Flight Attendants.
